IATI is a publishing standard which encourages all actors in the development and humanitarian aid delivery chains to publish information on their activities and finances. As a result you can’t simply add up all the numbers. Many users of the data need, somehow, to derive meaningful totals.

  • What rules do individual publishers need to follow within their own reporting?
  • Traceability of finances down the delivery chain provides a means of avoiding double counting. We need to be clear on the rules for publishers and users alike.
  • Given that many publishers will take a long time to properly implement traceability - particularly through multilaterals - is there a simpler methodology that could be used to assist data users?
