I’ve opened a separate discussion on XI-IATI guidance, and as with the NSO I’d strongly advice against handing out identifiers for regular organisations. Instead, add more registration agencies:

  • Solidaridad South America is in Peru: PE-SUNARP or PE-CR (open corporates style)?
  • Solidaridad Central America is in Guatemala: GT-RMGG or GT-CR?
  • Solidaridad China: there apparently is a whole list of agencies, per province.

Perhaps check with Solidaridad what their respective registration agencies and numbers are?

I’d agree, we need more registration authorities to be included on the list. Maybe this information is something the Identify.org project could share with IATI as it says on their website that collecting reg authority info is an objective?

NB. We’ve only asked for one XI identifier to be issued for a CSO in the over 200 organisations we’ve worked with, and that was because there was absolutely no workaround. Usually there is a way and most CSOs and networks who want or need to publish to IATI are well established and will have some kind of official registration, even if it’s at the province level or via a business registration service.

Just to update this topic to inform users that Solidaridad have now consolidated all of their IATI reporting into a single registry account which is managed by the Solidaridad Network Secretariat based in the Netherlands. As a result they are now using a single dutch organisation identifier and no longer require any XI-IATI prefixed identifiers
